Key Areas of Impact

Full-Function Bookkeeping

  • Portfolio Management: Deliver end-to-end accounting services for various SME clients, ensuring each account is handled with accuracy and industry-specific precision.
  • Financial Processing: Manage general ledgers, bank reconciliations, and trial balances using modern cloud-based software.
  • Accuracy & Integrity: Maintain meticulous financial records that serve as a reliable foundation for client business decisions.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Statutory Submissions: Ensure all clients remain compliant with current South African tax regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Software Mastery: Utilize Sage Accounting and Xero to streamline client workflows (experience in CaseWare is a distinct advantage).
  • Excel Excellence: Use advanced Excel skills to perform complex reconciliations and data analysis where required.

Client & Relationship Management

  • Advisory Presence: Act as a confident point of contact for business owners, explaining financial concepts and resolving queries efficiently.
  • Independent Workflow: Manage multiple client deadlines simultaneously, maintaining high standards of time management and organization.

What You Need to Succeed

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of solid bookkeeping experience, with a strong preference for candidates coming from an accounting practice environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Sage Accounting and Xero is non-negotiable.
  • Skills: Advanced computer literacy and the ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail and strong interpersonal communication skills.

Academic Background

  • Experience over Qualification: While a BCom Accounting or similar degree is advantageous, we place the highest value on proven, relevant experience.
