Role Purpose
We are seeking a strategically-minded Warehouse Manager to take full ownership of warehouse operations for a leading logistics player. This is a role for a “continuous improvement” champion who can optimize complex stock flows while maintaining world-class safety and quality standards. You will lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that inventory management, from raw materials to export-ready finished goods, is executed with precision.
Key Areas of Impact
Operational Excellence & Layout Optimization
- Workflow Design: Continually optimize warehouse layout and stock flow to maximize space utilization and pick speed.
- Standardization: Implement and maintain 5S and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards to ensure a clean, efficient, and safe environment.
- OTIF Performance: Drive “On-Time-In-Full” delivery performance to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Stock Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end flow of raw materials, finished goods, and consignment stock.
- Accuracy: Lead monthly stock takes and maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent both stockouts and over-investment.
- Import/Export: Oversee the specialized processes of containerized loading and destuffing for international trade.
Leadership & Performance Culture
- Team Management: Lead and develop warehouse and logistics teams, managing shift work effectively within a unionized environment.
- KPI Monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators, implementing rapid corrective actions when targets are not met.
- Financial Stewardship: Drive initiatives to reduce overall warehousing costs without compromising on service quality.
What You Need to Succeed
Academic & Professional Requirements
- Education: Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in warehousing/stock control, with at least 2 years specifically in a management capacity.
- Systems: Strong experience with ERP systems (Syspro is highly advantageous) and advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot tables/Advanced functions).
- Compliance: Knowledge of GMP and food safety warehousing is a distinct advantage.
