You will be responsible for the full Accounts Payable cycle, ensuring that the team handles high volumes of complex logistics transactions accurately. 🔑 Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Compliance
- Supervision: Manage and motivate a team of 2 or more direct reports.
- Licensing & Subscriptions: Ensure the company remains compliant with SARS licenses, WCA, SAAFF, and Agency Licenses.
- Audit Support: Lead the team through annual external financial audits and ensure all vendor due-diligence is followed.
Core Financial Operations
- Three-Way Matching: Oversee the matching of supplier invoices to official orders and PODs (Proof of Delivery).
- Intercompany Transactions: Manage complex transactions between different company entities.
- Reconciliations: * Reconcile creditors’ control accounts and aged analysis.
- Clear old reconciliation items timeously.
- Operational Sync: Reconcile “jobs” from the operations system to actual costs.
Month-End & Reporting
- Accruals: Post accruals once cost reconciliations are complete.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed month-end and year-end reports on outstanding creditors and GRVs (Goods Received Vouchers).
- File Closure: Ensure files are closed on the system only after full reconciliation is verified as accurate.
✅ Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Education: Completed Degree or Diploma in Accounting/Finance.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience strictly within Freight Forwarding or Logistics. (Candidates without this specific industry background will not be considered).
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing a team of at least 2 people.
- Function: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the Accounts Payable function.
