Role Purpose
First Technology is seeking a highly skilled T2 Engineer to join our Enterprise Managed Services (EMS) team in Midrand. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, quality, and evolution of our Collaboration, Directory, Security, and Datacentre services. As a T2 Engineer, you will bridge the gap between day-to-day operations and high-level systems design, ensuring that all platforms operate at peak performance while driving continuous service improvements.
Key Areas of Impact
Hybrid Infrastructure & Cloud Management
- Virtualization: Expertly manage and implement Hypervisor cluster environments, including Hyper-V and VMWare.
- Cloud Operations: Maintain a solid understanding of Public Cloud IaaS offerings, specifically within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Datacentre Grade Tech: Oversee business-critical technologies including enterprise backup toolsets, storage solutions, and vulnerability management.
Operational Excellence & Service Quality
- Service Level Management: Take ownership of incidents, requests, and problems, ensuring resolution within defined SLAs.
- Proactive Monitoring: Accountable for the health and functionality of monitoring systems across all defined service platforms.
- Platform Optimization: Consult with Technical Managers and Senior Engineers to design solutions and ensure service platforms are at optimum operating levels.
Governance & Change Management
- ITIL Alignment: Apply a deep understanding of Incident, Request Fulfillment, and Change Management practices.
- SOP Development: Responsible for documenting and continuously updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Security & Continuity: Maintain security best practices and ensure service continuity plans are tested according to operational schedules.
What You Need to Succeed
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience in a 2nd line troubleshooting role covering Microsoft 365, Azure, and Datacentre services.
- Technical Breadth: Solid experience in managing email-related problems, directory services, and security configurations.
- Vendor Management: Ability to act as a primary point of contact for both vendors and customers, translating complex requirements between stakeholders.
- Leadership: Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to identify urgency and impact in high-pressure scenarios.

- Microsoft 365 Enterprise Admin Expert
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate
- MCSE 2016/2019
