🎯 Purpose of the Job
As a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant within the Medirite team, you are a critical link in the healthcare chain. You will support the Pharmacist in providing high-quality pharmaceutical services, ensuring that prescriptions are handled with precision, stock is managed efficiently, and every patient receives professional, compassionate care.
🔑 Key Performance Areas
Clinical & Dispensing Support
- Accurate Dispensing: Prepare and label prescriptions under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, ensuring strict adherence to dosage and safety protocols.
- Patient Consultation: Provide front-shop service, assisting patients with over-the-counter (OTC) needs and professional advice within your scope of practice.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Stock Control: Monitor stock levels and track expiry dates to ensure the pharmacy remains fully stocked with viable medication.
- Procurement: Assist with pharmacy ordering systems to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Administration & Compliance
- Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records and perform necessary pharmacy paperwork to meet SAPC standards.
- Pharmacy Housekeeping: Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organized, and fully compliant with health and safety regulations.
✅ Requirements
- Qualification (Essential): Must be a Qualified Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
- Professional Registration: Active and valid registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
- Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar Post-Basic role.
- Desirable: Experience within a retail or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) pharmacy environment is highly advantageous.
