๐ฏ Purpose of the Role
As the Receptionist for Reddam House Ballito, you are the first point of contact and the “face” of this premium international school. Your role is twofold: providing elite-level administrative support to staff and parents, and ensuring a nurturing, safe environment for students who visit the front office or sick bay. You will support the schoolโs ethos of academic excellence and holistic well-being by maintaining a professional, welcoming, and organized reception area.
๐ Key Responsibilities
Front-of-House & Communication
- Visitor Management: Welcome visitors and redirect them to the appropriate personnel or venues within the administration wing or campus.
- Telecommunications: Answer phones, take detailed messages, and manage the general reception email account, forwarding inquiries to the correct staff members.
- Public Relations: Assist with large-scale school events such as Open Days and Information Sessions.
- Environment: Ensure the reception area and piazza remain neat, tidy, and representative of the schoolโs premium brand.
Administrative Support
- Documentation: Print, email, and type educational materials or assessments as requested by teaching staff.
- Logistics: Arrange travel and accommodation for staff attending conferences and workshops.
- Record Keeping: Update the emergency contact list and compile/update class lists at the beginning of each term.
- Procurement: Liaise with stationers and textbook suppliers to ensure the school is well-resourced.
Student Care (Sick Bay)
- First Aid & Care: Manage the Sick Bay by tending to injured or unwell students, cleaning wounds, and providing “TLC” to children in distress.
- Communication: Promptly contact parents regarding sick or injured students.
- Hygiene: Maintain a sterile and organized sick bay environment.
