About the Opportunity
Vulamathuba Empumelelo is dedicated to building resilient communities and advancing economic mobility. We are seeking enthusiastic learners for our Community Development Work Learnership. This program is designed to provide you with a deep understanding of social support systems while gaining hands-on experience in the field.
The curriculum follows a 70/30 model: 30% intensive theory delivered by an accredited provider and 70% practical workplace training. You will be mentored by highly trained Social Workers as you work toward a professional Portfolio of Evidence (PoE).
Key Responsibilities
- Social Work Support: Assist Social Workers in protecting and developing vulnerable individuals, families, and groups within Communicare complexes.
- Community Engagement: Support programs aimed at mitigating social instability and promoting self-reliance.
- Administrative Assistance: Perform critical administrative tasks to ensure the smooth delivery of social services.
- Field Work: Travel to various communities to implement development initiatives and gather field data.
Requirements
- Education: Matric Certificate (Grade 12).
- Citizenship: South African Citizen.
- Status: Must be currently unemployed.
- Experience: Previous experience in community work is essential.
- Languages: Fluent in English and at least one other official South African language.
- Attributes: Enthusiastic, driven, and able to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Driverโs License: A valid license is highly advantageous.
Preference Policy: Priority will be given to applicants who have previously successfully completed a Vulamathuba Economic Mobility Programme (Matric, Job Readiness, or Skills Programme).
