๐ฏ Purpose of the Role
As a key member of the IT division for one of South Africaโs most iconic streetwear brands, you are responsible for the heartbeat of the business: system availability. This is a second-line support role that spans across high-energy retail stores, complex warehouse logistics, and the brandโs massive online presence. Your mission is to minimize disruptions to revenue-generating activities by resolving deep-seated technical issues, managing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring the seamless integration of Shopify and ERP systems.
๐ Key Areas of Responsibility
Advanced Technical & Incident Management
- Second-Line Support: Resolve escalated incidents that Tier 1 support cannot handle, focusing on a high Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR).
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform deep-dives into major outages to ensure they do not happen again.
- Prioritization: Dynamically shift focus based on business impactโensuring POS systems in stores and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) never stall during peak periods.
SaaS & Platform Administration
- E-commerce & ERP: Administer and maintain Shopify, Business Central, and Microsoft 365.
- Access Control: Ensure Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) compliance and perform quarterly audits to keep the network secure.
- Optimization: Monitor license usage to minimize waste and suggest configuration standards for new store rollouts.
Cloud & Infrastructure Operations
- Azure Support: Monitor the stability of Azure-hosted services and coordinate with specialized cloud engineers during critical outages.
- Infrastructure Risk: Proactively identify hardware or connectivity risks across the brand’s national footprint.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- SLA Tracking: Hold third-party vendors accountable to their Service Level Agreements.
- Reporting: Produce monthly operational reports for the Head of IT and CFO, highlighting incident trends and proposing automation opportunities.
โ Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric certificate and a Diploma in IT, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience in IT Support or IT Operations.
- Technical Stack: * Knowledge of Shopify or equivalent retail POS systems.
- Exposure to Business Central or similar ERP software.
- Proficiency in SaaS configuration and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Basic understanding of API and Integration dependencies.
