We are seeking a disciplined Inbound Supervisor for our fixed nightshift operation in Isando. This is a high-impact role requiring a leader who thrives on precision, safety, and the challenge of managing complex inbound flows in a 24/7 environment.
Key Areas of Impact
Inbound Operations & Efficiency
- Strategic Scheduling: Liaise with manufacturing sites to plan inbound schedules and prioritize offloading based on DC capacity.
- Turnaround Management: Oversee vehicle turnaround times, stock receipting, labeling, and binning to meet strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- System Accuracy: Maintain 100% data integrity within SAP WM, resolving stock variances immediately with the Inventory Control team.
- Asset Control: Manage pallet movements (CHEP/Brown) and optimize shuttle utilization through data-driven reporting.
Leadership & People Management
- Team Supervision: Directly lead and mentor a diverse team of 10 employees.
- Accountability: Manage timekeeping, attendance, and overtime; conduct performance discussions and daily “toolbox talks.”
- Industrial Relations: Handle IR matters and oversee casual labor requirements and succession planning.
- Safety Culture: Enforce strict compliance with SOP, QMS, Food Safety, and SHERQ standards.
Equipment & Resource Oversight
- MHE Control: Ensure daily safety checks for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and scanners; log breakdowns and track utilization trends.
- Financial Stewardship: Approve casual labor costs, manage departmental expenses, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Audit Readiness: Ensure all receiving documentation is filed accurately and the facility remains in a constant state of “audit-readiness.”
What You Need to Succeed
Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) and a Diploma in Logistics or Warehousing Management are essential.
- Proven Track Record: Minimum 8 years’ experience in a warehousing/receiving environment.
- Leadership: At least 3–5 years of experience supervising a team of 10 or more.
- Industry: Direct experience in FMCG warehousing or distribution.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- SAP Mastery: Advanced working knowledge of SAP WM (Warehouse Management), with the ability to perform complex inbound transactions confidently.
- Compliance Expertise: Deep understanding of Quality Control, Food Safety standards, and OHS/Risk Management practices.
- Nightshift Readiness: This is a permanent, non-rotational nightshift position; candidates must be comfortable with this schedule long-term.
