Role Overview
Ellahi Consulting is seeking a high-caliber Dealership Accountant for a fast-paced automotive group in Randburg. This role is designed for a detail-oriented financial professional with a deep understanding of dealership operations. You will be responsible for managing the full accounting function across multiple franchises, requiring a candidate who can maintain accuracy while navigating the pressures of month-end reporting and OEM requirements.
Key Areas of Impact
Specialized Dealership Finance
- Floorplan & DIC: Process and manage floorplan payments and Dealer Incentive Commission (DIC) accurately.
- OEM & Warranty Management: Allocate and reconcile OEM warranty and fleet claims, ensuring no revenue leakage from manufacturer interactions.
- Vehicle Administration: Oversee the financial side of vehicle admin functions, ensuring the seamless flow of stock from ordering to delivery.
Cash Management & Reporting
- Cashflow Forecasting: Prepare and manage cash flow forecasts to ensure the dealership maintains optimal liquidity.
- Banking Excellence: Perform bank reconciliations, manage petty cash, and oversee cash for banking with strict internal controls.
- FIC Compliance: Complete and submit Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) reports as required by South African legislation.
Core Accounting Functions
- Ledger Management: Conduct thorough general ledger reconciliations and maintain accurate cash ledger accounts.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage receipting, debtor allocation, and reporting. Ensure accounts payable are processed within terms.
- Internal Control: Control and manage ordering books and various administrative functions to maintain a clean audit trail.
What You Need to Succeed
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Diploma in Accounting (or equivalent qualification).
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Accountant within a dealership environment.
- Software Mastery: Proficiency in Evolve (Dealership Management System) is essential.
- Excel Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel abilities (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.).
Core Competencies
- Multi-Franchise Ability: Experience working across multiple vehicle brands/franchises simultaneously.
- Pressure Tolerance: Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively during high-volume periods.
- Communication: Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills for dealing with both staff and OEMs.
