We are seeking a meticulous Food Safety Specialist to join our Rosslyn Snacks Factory. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be the guardian of consumer safety, ensuring that our production processes meet the highest global standards.
Key Performance Areas
System Management & Compliance
- Standard Oversight: Manage and maintain site compliance for FSSC 22000, AIB, and HACCP systems.
- HACCP Leadership: Continuously improve and manage the site’s HACCP program to mitigate biological, chemical, and physical risks.
- Allergen Control: Oversee the site’s Allergen Control Program to prevent cross-contamination and ensure accurate labeling.
Hygiene & Pest Control
- Sanitation Management: Effectively manage and audit third-party contracts for cleaning, sanitation, and pest control.
- Operational Audits: Conduct rigorous GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) audits and manage deep cleaning and fumigation schedules.
- Excellence Standards: Ensure the highest level of hygiene across the facility to secure product and consumer safety.
Training & Root Cause Analysis
- Workforce Education: Facilitate Food Safety inductions and ongoing training for all site personnel to foster a culture of quality.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize an analytical approach to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on non-conformances and implement sustainable corrective actions.
What You Need to Succeed
Experience & Qualifications
- Education: National Diploma or Degree in Food Technology (or equivalent qualification) is essential.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the food industry, specifically within Quality Assurance and Food Safety.
- Certifications: Mandatory certification in FSSC 22000, AIB, and Auditing.
Technical Skills & Attributes
- QMS Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems and compliance auditing.
- Technical Rigor: Strong understanding of Pest Control prevention, GMPs, and AIB/FSSC standards.
- Analytical Mindset: An investigative nature with the ability to navigate complex food safety challenges through data and evidence-based solutions.
