Situated in the heart of Limpopo, we offer an opportunity for a skilled UV (Utility Vehicle) Operator to join our Engineering South division. Reporting to the Chargehand, you will play a critical role in the underground logistics and maintenance support that keeps our operations running safely and efficiently.
Key Areas of Impact
TMM Operations & Logistics
- Machinery Operation: Safely operate allocated utility vehicles to supply materials, tools, and equipment to underground sections.
- Logistics Excellence: Manage the timeous loading, transporting, and off-loading of belt material and heavy equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Infrastructure Support: Assist with the removal of old tips and belt structures, ensuring safe transport to surface workshops as per the maintenance schedule.
Technical Monitoring & Maintenance
- Performance Tracking: Continuously monitor component performance against mine standards to identify and report any sub-performance or deviations.
- Breakdown Reporting: Timeously report machinery breakdowns or damages to the Control Room Operator to minimize operational downtime.
- Vehicle Care: Take full ownership of the assigned vehicle, including pre-shift inspections and parking according to safety protocols.
Safety & Compliance
- Procedural Adherence: Ensure 100% compliance with all Codes of Practice (COP) and SOPs.
- Risk Management: Take responsibility for all activities under your control regarding underground safety and key control procedures.
What You Need to Succeed
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
- Licensing: Valid Code 08 (EB) Driver’s Licence.
- Training: Completion of a relevant, approved TMM training programme.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year practical underground Engineering experience.
- Medical: Ability to be certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
Advantageous Qualities
- 6 months of specific practical experience as a UV Operator.
