We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Controller for a 6-month fixed-term contract to manage the full credit control function, ensuring financial health and strong debtor relationships.
Key Areas of Impact
Full Function Account Management
- Debtor Control: Ensure timely payments of accounts in strict accordance with Trading Terms.
- Reconciliations: Perform detailed reconciliations of debtor accounts and manage journals for discounts and rebates.
- System Integrity: Facilitate new account setups in SAP and maintain master file accuracy.
- Problem Solving: Resolve complex queries and claims efficiently to minimize DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
- Order Management: Execute order releases and insurance management within specified mandates.
Customer Insights & Relationship Building
- Field Engagement: Execute regular customer visits to resolve queries, build professional rapport, and gain business insights.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as a key liaison between Business Units (BUs) and internal stakeholders.
- KYC Compliance: Maintain “Know Your Customer” standards, ensuring legal entity and shareholding information is current.
Reporting, Analysis & Administration
- Performance Reporting: Report monthly debtor performance and query status to the Credit Manager/Team Leader.
- Portfolio Analysis: Identify trends and issues within the portfolio, recommending strategic remedies for improved cash flow.
- Audit Support: Facilitate audit requirements and maintain seamless communication with Treasury.
What You Need to Succeed
Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) and a Diploma or Degree in Finance.
- Professional Standing: Professional certifications in Credit Management are highly preferred.
- Industry Background: 3–5 years of experience as a Credit Controller, ideally within the FMCG industry.
Technical Skills
- Systems: Proficiency in SAP ERP (Accounts Receivable module) is essential.
- Data Tools: Advanced MS Excel skills; exposure to Power BI is a significant advantage.
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience in Credit Vetting and dealing with Credit Insurance providers.
