๐ฏ Purpose of the Job
Medirite Plus is seeking two customer-focused and adaptable individuals to join the Sandown Crossing team. As a Pharmacy Shop Assistant, you are the face of the retail floor. You will bridge the gap between healthcare and retail by identifying customer needs, suggesting suitable over-the-counter products, and ensuring the store remains organized and professional. This role requires a “service-first” mindset and the ability to handle financial transactions with high accuracy.
๐ Job Objectives
Customer Experience & Sales
- Engagement: Greet customers warmly and identify their specific needs to recommend the best-fitting products.
- Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new products, current promotions, and special offers to assist customers effectively.
- Problem Solving: Handle customer queries promptly and escalate complex issues to management when necessary.
Financial & POS Management
- Transactions: Process payments (cash, cards, vouchers, and coupons) using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Reconciliation: Balance daily sales and receipts according to strict company procedures.
- Accuracy: Conduct regular price audits to find and fix any discrepancies between shelf labels and the system.
Store Operations & Merchandising
- Stocking: Restock items and organize the sales floor according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Visual Standards: Maintain high visual merchandising standards and perform routine housekeeping to keep the pharmacy pristine.
- Stock Integrity: Assist with stock receiving procedures and merchandising layouts.
โ Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) qualification is essential.
- Experience: * Minimum 5 months of Point of Sale (POS) / Till experience in a retail environment.
- A proven track record of working both on the sales floor and behind the cash counter.
- Language: Bilingualism is required (must be fluent in English and Afrikaans to serve the local community).
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy.
