Key Purpose & Objectives

The primary focus of this role is the Administration of Transfers, specifically Section 14 and Section 50 transfers from Discoveryโ€™s platform to other insurers and financial institutions.

As an Intern in this space, you will ensure that all “transfers out” are processed within strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and in full accordance with South African financial legislation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Transfer Processing: Execute end-to-end Section 14 and Section 50 transfers out of the Discovery platform.
  • Document Management: Request and proactively follow up on outstanding documentation from external companies, financial advisors, and clients.
  • Query Resolution: Handle inbound calls and email queries from policyholders and advisors; perform outbound calls where necessary to resolve bottlenecks.
  • Escalation Handling: Address service failures timeously to ensure recovery and maintain client trust.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong professional ties with financial advisors and both internal and external stakeholders.
  • SLA Monitoring: Monitor task lists daily to ensure all cases remain within agreed-upon timelines.
  • System Testing: Assist with system implementations and user testing to improve administrative efficiency.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Education: Matric / Grade 12.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 yearsโ€™ experience within a Linked Investment Service Provider (LISP) environment is essential.
  • Specialized Knowledge: * Strong understanding of the Long-Term Insurance Act and Pension Fund Act (specifically regarding Section 14 and 50).
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Retirement Products.
  • LISP Admin: Practical experience in LISP administration is a mandatory requirement for this internship.
