🎯 Purpose of the Role
As part of the TsAfrika team, you will be the backbone of daily catering operations. You will balance “back-of-house” food preparation with “front-of-house” service excellence. Your goal is to ensure that meals are prepared safely, presented attractively, and served with a high level of customer care, all while maintaining the strict hygiene standards Tsebo is known for.
🔑 Duties & Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Service
- Culinary Assistance: Assist in preparing meals, with a specific focus on assembling fresh salads and desserts.
- Serving Line Management: Keep the serving line well-stocked and clean; plate entrees and sides for customers efficiently.
- Stock Management: Accurately record and store leftovers; perform stock handovers between shifts where applicable.
Hygiene & Safety
- Compliance: Adhere to all Company and Statutory regulations regarding food safety, cleanliness, and health and safety.
- Housekeeping: Maintain order in the kitchen, canteen tables, and service areas to ensure an inviting dining environment.
Customer Relations
- Service Excellence: Actively meet customer expectations and handle compliments or complaints with professionalism.
- Teamwork: Assist in training new employees and cooperate with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
✅ Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
- Advantage: A culinary qualification will be highly regarded.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a similar food service or catering role.
- Shift Work: Must be available and willing to work night shifts.
- Health: Must be free from skin allergies to foods and detergents.
