🎯 Purpose of the Role
As a Light Duty Driver for Europcar Downtown, you are essential to vehicle delivery and fleet maintenance operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that rental vehicles are immaculately cleaned, inspected, refueled, and safely delivered to customers. You will also conduct vehicle check-ins upon return, upholding Europcar’s quality and customer service standards.
🔑 Key Job Outputs
Fleet Preparation & Maintenance
- Vehicle Cleaning: Wash and vacuum vehicle interiors and exteriors to meet high brand standards.
- Fluid & Safety Checks: Refuel vehicles, check tire pressure, oil, water, and essential fluids after every rental turn-around.
- Yard Upkeep: Keep the fleet yard, parking bays, and surrounding areas clean, organized, and secure.
Quality Control & Asset Protection
- Vehicle Inspection: Identify and report expired license discs, vehicle damage, maintenance needs, or non-compliance with quality standards.
- Check-In Processing: Handle incoming vehicle check-ins adhering strictly to company, quality control, and damage/claims procedures.
- Asset Safeguarding: Act ethically to protect both company property and customer belongings.
Customer Delivery & Logistics
- Vehicle Delivery: Deliver rental vehicles directly to customers in accordance with established operational procedures.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally and clearly with customers during vehicle drop-offs and check-ins.
✅ Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Licensing: Valid, unendorsed Code 8 Driver’s License (must have held the license for at least 2 consecutive years).
- Driving Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant driving experience with a clean driving record.
- Language Skills: Fully bilingual and fluent in spoken and written English.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and map-reading skills.
- Flexibility: Willing and able to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as operational needs demand.
