Role Purpose

As an Account Manager for Cybersecurity, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and aggressively growing First Distribution’s security product sales within an assigned reseller base. This role requires a strategic salesperson who can identify new business opportunities, cultivate high-level stakeholder relationships, and act as a “Trusted Advisor” to our partners. You will bridge the gap between technical digital security solutions and the commercial success of our resellers.


Key Areas of Impact

Strategic Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Target Achievement: Drive Gross Profit (GP) targets through existing and newly recruited resellers.
  • Pipeline Management: Identify and qualify new deals to sustain required levels of pipeline and target coverage, utilizing the CRM system for accurate deal progression.
  • Portfolio Mastery: Sell the full Cyber Security portfolio, demonstrating deep product knowledge and mastery of brand-specific programs.
  • Profitability: Ensure targeted profit margins are achieved and all brand rebates are realized through strategic deal structuring.

Reseller Development & Account Management

  • Trusted Advisor Status: Engage with resellers to drive partner development planning, sales strategies, and overview sessions.
  • On-boarding: Lead the onboarding process for new accounts, covering operational, sales, and technical workflow integration.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute detailed account plans for each allocated partner, identifying budgets, purchasing cycles, and competitor landscapes.
  • Marketing Liaison: Coordinate with Brand Managers on marketing initiatives, newsletters, and promotional offers.

Reporting & Governance

  • Performance Reviews: Participate in bi-weekly sales reviews with the Line Manager and monthly sessions with the General Manager.
  • Activity Tracking: Maintain strict adherence to Call Plans and submit weekly activity reports, meeting minutes, and sales forecasts.

What You Need to Succeed

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric); an IT Qualification is highly preferable.
  • Experience: 2–3 years of SaaS Sales specifically within the IT Distribution or Reseller industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proven experience in selling Digital Security, Data Centre Solutions, or Networking.
  • Systems: Proficiency in using CRM platforms.
  • Mobility: Fluent in English with a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
