๐ŸŽฏ Purpose of the Job

As a Shop Assistant and Cashier at Clicks, you are a brand ambassador responsible for the final and most important step of the customer journey. You will ensure service excellence by combining fast, accurate Point of Sale (POS) transactions with effective floor merchandising. Your goal is to ensure every customer “feels good and pays less” while driving the success of the Clicks ClubCard programme.

Point of Sale (POS) Excellence

  • Transaction Accuracy: Efficiently scan merchandise and collect payments with high levels of accuracy.
  • Cash Handling: Ensure the secure and safe handling of cash, following all company security protocols.
  • Loyalty Drive: Proactively promote the Clicks ClubCard, enrolling new members to meet store participation targets and actioning rewards for existing members.

Sales & Customer Service

  • Promotional Awareness: Actively inform customers of current promotions to increase sales and provide value.
  • Brand Ambassador: Provide a friendly, professional, and visible presence on the floor to assist customers with queries.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay updated on product ranges and events to provide accurate information at all times.

Merchandising & Operations

  • Visual Standards: Execute merchandising duties and maintain general housekeeping according to store and visual standards.
  • Stock Management: Understand and follow stock management procedures to ensure shelves are filled and correctly priced.

โœ… Minimum Requirements

  • Education: * Essential: Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Desirable: At least 50% for Mathematics and English at the Grade 12 level.
  • Experience: * Desirable: Previous experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG environment.
  • Skills: * Basic numeracy and computer literacy.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Customer Orientation: A genuine desire to meet customer expectations and build rapport.
