This program is designed for recent graduates looking to launch a career in the “booming” telecommunications and tech industry. As an intern within Nokiaโ€™s People Organisation, you will move beyond academic theory to help accelerate meaningful employee engagement and support the operational backbone of a global workforce. You will work under the guidance of industry leaders to develop both the technical HR skills and the professional interpersonal skills needed for long-term career growth.


๐Ÿ”‘ Your Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Onboarding: Assisting with the end-to-end process for new hires, including the scheduling of critical induction sessions.
  • Payroll & Benefits: Gathering data for payroll processing and ensuring all benefits documentation is fully completed for the People Care Partner.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining precise, up-to-date employee files while ensuring total compliance with data protection regulations (POPIA/GDPR).

Strategy & Engagement

  • Policy Support: Assisting with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Event Coordination: Helping organize HR events in line with the annual employee engagement program to foster a positive company culture.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as a point of contact for key internal stakeholders during HR-related events and projects.

โœ… Your Skills and Experience

Essential (Must Have)

  • Education: A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of relevant South African Labour Laws (LRA, BCEA, EEA).
  • Tools: Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital HR tools.

Desirable (Nice to Have)

  • Precision: High level of accuracy in data entry and report generation.
  • Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with diverse employee groups.
