Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a dynamic and experienced Cosmetics Manager for our Bryanpark store. In this role, you are the custodian of the store’s cosmetic and beauty categories. You will lead a high-performing team of consultants, ensuring that every customer receives the expert advice and premium service that defines the Dis-Chem beauty experience.
Key Areas of Impact
Team Leadership & Development
- Personnel Management: Supervise and support a staff complement of approximately 7 consultants, ensuring optimal floor coverage at all times.
- Skill Advancement: Identify training needs and ensure staff receive up-to-date brand and product training.
- Culture & Feedback: Foster a collaborative team environment and encourage constructive feedback to improve service standards.
Sales & Operational Excellence
- Target Driven: Monitor sales reports and manage department targets and commission calculations to drive profitability.
- Promotion Execution: Oversee the implementation of monthly promotions and marketing activities to achieve department goals.
- Customer Relations: Resolve customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism, escalating complex issues to the Store Manager or Regional Cosmetic Manager when necessary.
Stock & Merchandising Mastery
- Inventory Control: Manage stock levels through effective planning and ordering in collaboration with the Dis-Chem warehouse and suppliers.
- Visual Standards: Maintain world-class merchandising and display standards, ensuring the department is clean, inviting, and on-brand.
- Market Knowledge: Maintain in-depth, current knowledge of global beauty trends and local competitor activity.
What You Need to Succeed
Essential Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ retail experience specifically in the cosmetics or beauty sector.
- Leadership: Proven experience supervising or managing a team (approx. 7 people).
- Technical: Computer literate (MS Office).
- Mobility: Valid Driver’s License and own reliable transport.
Advantageous Skills
- Previous experience using SAP and QlikView.
- Proficiency in a second language (Bilingual).
- Strong background in performance management and staff development.
