This learnership is a gateway into the world of professional financial planning. Absa is looking for graduates with a foundation in Finance, Accounting, or Law who are eager to become “Fit and Proper” financial advisers. You will combine theoretical learning with practical workplace experience, focusing on helping clients achieve their financial goals.
๐ Key Accountabilities
Professional Development & FAIS Compliance
- Structured Learning: Attend all training interventions and work toward meeting the FAIS Fit and Proper requirements.
- Regulatory Preparation: Study and prepare for the Regulatory Exam for Representatives (RE5).
- Class of Business: Complete specific product and class-of-business training as required by the FSCA.
Sales & Customer Engagement
- Lead Management: Actively work on provided leads to achieve “strike rates” and productivity measures.
- Customer Support: Assist customers in understanding financial products and delivering service excellence.
- Advice & Services: Learn to provide compliant advice and intermediary services under supervision.
Operations & Administration
- Quality Assurance: Maintain strict confidentiality of client data and follow prescribed sales scripts to ensure legal compliance.
- Reporting: Complete all administrative tracking and reporting tasks accurately.
- Workplace Experience: Support your teamโs daily objectives while following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
โ Minimum Requirements
Education (Required)
- Bachelorโs Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Law.
- Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate.
FAIS Requirements (The “Fit and Proper” Status)
- Must be willing to work toward a FSCA-Approved Qualification.
- Must be able to attest to Honesty, Integrity, and Good Standing.
- Preference: Candidates already holding an FSCA-approved qualification or who have passed the RE5 exam will be given priority.
