๐ฏ Purpose of the Job
The Data Capturer is an essential link in the manufacturing chain of the Truworths Africa Design Division. You are responsible for the meticulous recording of financial transactions, ensuring that every garment or product produced is accounted for financially. This role requires a methodical individual who can navigate the complexities of manufacturing costs, such as comparing budget vs. actual spend, while maintaining professional relationships with third-party manufacturers.
๐ Key Responsibilities
Financial Data Processing
- Invoice Management: Capture supplier invoices accurately and reconcile them against existing Purchase Orders (POs).
- Credit Notes: Ensure all credit notes are captured to maintain accurate ledger balances.
- Payment Cycle: Ensure all documentation is submitted for payment within strict, agreed-upon timelines to maintain supplier health.
Manufacturing Support
- Stock Management: Manage and correct allocated stock against both cancelled and successfully delivered jobs.
- Query Resolution: Liaise independently with suppliers to resolve invoice or order discrepancies professionally.
- Buyer Liaison: Proactively follow up with the relevant buyers for any outstanding or missing documentation.
Month-End & Systems
- Reporting: Coordinate and complete month-end functions timeously to ensure financial visibility for the design team.
- Systems Accuracy: Utilize specialized software to ensure the manufacturing process costs are tracked from start to finish.

Education & Skills
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) plus relevant work experience.
- Excel Mastery: Excellent Excel knowledge is essential. You must be comfortable with data manipulation and formulas.
- Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word).
- Systems Thinking: You should be a systems-driven individual who can work independently.
Advantageous (Preference given)
- Experience in a Manufacturing or Retail environment.
- Basic Accounting knowledge and an understanding of manufacturing costs (Budget vs. Actual).
- Familiarity with Oracle and Sync Systems.
