Role Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an exciting opportunity for a results-driven Salon Manager to lead our Westrand team. Your mission is to ensure the salon operates at peak performance in accordance with Dis-Chem’s elite policies. You will be responsible for driving monthly targets, promoting premium brands like Bionike and Payot, and fostering a high-performance culture within your team.

The ideal candidate is a blend of a technical beauty expert and a savvy business manager who can maintain a pristine salon environment while maximizing retail and service revenue.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development: Implement aggressive strategies to achieve monthly service and product targets. Plan and execute marketing promotions to recruit and retain a loyal customer base.
• Team Leadership: Manage rosters (KRONOS), leave applications, and payroll activities. Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and corrective action to ensure professional standards are met.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee daily administration, financial records, and accurate invoicing. Ensure all equipment is functional, sanitized, and well-maintained.
• Inventory Control: Conduct precise inventory counts for both retail and consumable stock. Manage ordering processes and stock rotation to prevent out-of-stock scenarios.
• Client Experience: Act as a brand ambassador by resolving customer concerns politely and ensuring all interactions meet Dis-Chem’s warm and professional standards.
• Technical Support: Assist with treatment bookings and step in to perform treatments during peak periods or when short-staffed.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:

• Education: Matric or equivalent Senior Certificate.
• Certification: Relevant Beauty or Nails Certificate/Diploma (NQF4).
• Experience: Previous professional Hair Stylist experience AND proven Management experience in a salon or retail environment.
• Citizenship: South African citizen with a clear criminal and credit record (MIE).
• Mobility: Valid driver’s license and/or own reliable transport.

Technical Competencies:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with CRM and QlikView Systems is highly advantageous.
• Deep understanding of skin/body technical equipment.
