🌟 Purpose of the Job
This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in the mining sector. You will operate mining-related machinery and equipment within designed parameters to reduce waste, optimize operating costs, and ensure high levels of safety and reliability.
🔑 Key Accountabilities
Safety & Housekeeping
- Compliance: Strictly apply and adhere to safety standards (SHE policies) to support a zero-harm environment.
- Environment: Maintain high standards of housekeeping and follow correct waste disposal procedures.
- Communication: Participate in daily morning meetings and “toolbox talks” to discuss safety and work assignments.
Operational Excellence
- Machinery Operation: Operate mining equipment efficiently and according to plan.
- Inspections: Perform plant and equipment inspections to ensure reliability and identify potential faults.
- Troubleshooting: Use applicable methods to identify equipment issues and ensure availability.
- Continuous Improvement: Spot opportunities for improvement in your immediate work area.
Development & Support
- Training: Attend courses and seminars as per the training matrix to build competency.
- Growth: Work with your group leader to identify personal development needs for your Professional Development Plan (PDP).
- Accountability: Capture accurate history feedback on repairs to improve critical spare management.
✅ Requirements & Skills
Formal Education
- Completed Matric / Grade 12 / N3 or an equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Mining Underground experience is not mandatory but will be a significant advantage for applicants.
