🎯 Purpose of the Role
The Cashier is the primary point of contact for Pedros customers. Your goal is to provide exceptional service by processing orders quickly and accurately. You will act as a salesperson by educating customers on current deals and using suggestive selling techniques to increase the store’s “ticket average” (the amount spent per order), all while maintaining a pristine service environment.
🔑 Key Areas of Responsibility
Customer Service & Sales
- Order Processing: Take and process customer orders accurately according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Speed of Service: Maintain a fast pace to minimize wait times, especially during peak lunch and dinner rushes.
- Upselling: Actively use suggestive selling to increase order totals (e.g., suggesting sides, drinks, or larger meal portions).
- Promotions: Stay updated on all current marketing campaigns and educate customers about new deals.
Financial Accuracy
- Transaction Handling: Process various payment types (cash, cards, mobile payments) with 100% accuracy to ensure zero variances at the end of the shift.
- POS Operation: Navigate the Point of Sale system efficiently.
Operations & Hygiene
- Counter Maintenance: Keep the counter and Front of House (FOH) service areas clean and hygienic at all times.
- Stock Management: Ensure the FOH is well-stocked with essential items (condiments, napkins, cutlery) according to SOP.
✅ Minimum Requirements
- Education: * Senior Certificate (Grade 12) is required.
- National Senior Certificate is preferred.
- Experience:Minimum of one year of experience as a retail cashier.
- Experience in a QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) environment is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Numeracy: Strong ability to calculate change and handle money accurately.
- Literacy: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse customers.
