🎯 Purpose of the Role
As a Handyman with CBRE Excellerate, you will serve as the hands-on operational lead for multi-site commercial facility maintenance across Vryheid and surrounding areas. This is a supervisory, client-facing role that balances multi-trade execution (carpentry, plumbing, masonry, painting) with team coordination, standby emergency response, digital reporting, and strict health & safety compliance.
🔑 Key Responsibilities & Duties
Building Maintenance & Technical Repairs
- Multi-Trade Execution: Perform general building maintenance, including carpentry, painting, drywalling, ceiling/tiling repairs, basic masonry, welding, plumbing, office furniture fixing, and lighting/lamping.
- Specialist Support: Assist internal Electrical, HVAC, and specialized technical teams during complex facility overhauls or installations.
- Preventative Maintenance: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) alongside daily, weekly, and monthly SLA site inspection checks.
Team Leadership & Call-Out Management
- On-Site Supervision: Delegate daily maintenance tasks, guide junior team members, and ensure work quality meets CBRE standards.
- Call-Out Response: Attend to site call-outs timeously, managing ad-hoc breakdowns and participating in a scheduled standby rotation.
Digital Admin & Health & Safety Compliance
- Mobile Reporting: Use smartphones/mobile applications to log digital job cards, complete site checklists, and submit technical reports.
- Administrative Upkeep: Process supplier invoices, track delivery notes, and maintain audit-ready paperwork.
