Role Purpose
Empact Group is looking for a proactive and versatile General Assistant to join our hospitality team in Franschhoek. This is a multi-functional role designed for a “hands-on” individual who can seamlessly transition between assisting the culinary team with food production and providing high-quality service in the front-of-house. You will be a key support pillar, ensuring that all operations adhere to strict Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
Key Areas of Impact
Culinary & Food Production Support
- Basic Preparation: Assist the kitchen team with essential food prep tasks, ensuring ingredients are ready for service according to quality standards.
- Back-of-House Maintenance: Support the washing, cleaning, and sanitizing of kitchen equipment and workstations to maintain a safe environment.
- Safety Compliance: Execute all tasks in strict accordance with Food Safety (HACCP) and general Health & Safety regulations.
Front-of-House & Service
- Customer Engagement: Provide a world-class service experience to our clients, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
- Service Flow: Assist with clearing tables, restocking service stations, and ensuring the dining area is pristine at all times.
- Aesthetic Standards: Take pride in personal appearance and hygiene, acting as a professional ambassador for the Empact Group brand.
General Operational Support
- Versatility: Act as an “all-rounder,” stepping in to support different departments as operational needs fluctuate.
- Talent Collaboration: Work closely with the Cashier, Chefs, and Management to ensure a seamless service cycle.
What You Need to Succeed
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
- Experience: Previous working experience in the Hospitality Industry is mandatory.
- Skills: Knowledge of basic food preparation and strong verbal communication skills.
Advantageous Qualities
- A formal qualification in Food and Beverage or Culinary Arts.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing service role.
- Passion for delivering world-class hospitality in a high-pressure environment.
