We are looking for a skilled, proactive Handyman to join our Delmas team to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic excellence of our corporate facilities.

The Role

You will be responsible for the comprehensive maintenance and upkeep of both the interior and exterior of our buildings. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will use a hands-on approach to resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring that our corporate environments meet world-class standards.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Maintenance & Repairs

• Electrical & Mechanical: Utilize your Wireman’s License to handle basic electrical maintenance and operate carpentry/power equipment safely.
• Plumbing: Address blockages in toilets, sinks, and drains; install and repair fixtures including geysers, flush masters, and toilet seats.
• Carpentry: Perform repairs on doors, locks, and closers; maintain cupboards, shelving, and gutters.
• Painting: Prepare surfaces and execute high-quality paintwork on walls, ceilings, rails, and parking demarcations according to client specs.

Infrastructure & Floor Care

• Flooring: Remove damaged carpet tiles, prepare surfaces, and install new coverings following supplier guidelines.
• Roofing & Waterproofing: Conduct essential roof repairs, including waterproofing pipes, covers, and drains to prevent leaks.
• Tiling: Prepare surfaces and execute tile replacements to a professional finish.

Equipment Installation & Support

• Fixtures: Assist in installing wallboards, blinds, and dispenser units.
• Tech Support: Coordinate with IT specialists to move and install projectors, TVs, and other office equipment.

Operational Excellence

• Sign-off: Ensure all work orders are meticulously documented and signed off by the client.
• Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean work area and ensure all tools and hazardous materials are stored according to safety standards.

What You Need to Succeed

Essential Requirements

• Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in building maintenance and technical support.
• Certification: A Wireman’s License is an essential requirement for this role.
• Trade Skills: Proficiency in painting, plumbing, carpentry, waterproofing, and carpet laying.
• Technical Versatility: Experience in welding and the ability to work with various electrical carpentry equipment.
