🎯 Purpose of the Job
You will be the strategic and operational lead for security across four major operating units: Milling, Bread Buns & Rolls, Speciality, and Pies. Your mission is to protect RCL Foods’ people and assets by aligning site policies with national standards, managing high-level risks (theft, hijacking, fraud), and ensuring the security service provider delivers peak performance.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
Risk & Incident Management
- Risk Assessment: Conduct joint assessments to identify threats such as organized crime, burglaries, and internal fraud.
- Investigations: Lead high-level security investigations, collecting evidence (CCTV, statements, logs) to support disciplinary or legal action.
- Strike Action: Develop and maintain robust strike action plans to protect the site during labor unrest.
Governance & Technology
- Policy Alignment: Ensure all divisions adhere to site security policies and regulatory requirements.
- CCTV & Access Control: Oversee CCTV control rooms and implement strict identity management protocols.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the functionality of weighbridges (WB), alcohol testers, and other security hardware.
Reporting & External Liaison
- Consolidated Dashboards: Provide management with visibility through incident statistics and trend analysis.
- Law Enforcement: Act as the primary liaison with the SAPS, emergency services, and regulatory bodies.
- Service Provider Oversight: Manage the contract with the security service provider, holding monthly meetings and performing regular audits.
✅ Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 6 years in Security Management.
- Certification: PSIRA Grade A (Non-negotiable).
- Education: NQF Level 6 qualification (Security, Criminology, or SAPS-related advanced certificates).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) and security criminology.

- Advanced Report Writing: Ability to produce structured, fact-based investigative and monthly performance reports.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to lead Security Forums and workshops for staff and security leads.
- Financial Discipline: Experience in security budgeting and cost control.
- Operational Oversight: Managing staff at weighbridges and reception areas to ensure full compliance.
