The Supreme Siyabhaka Academy is designed to tackle the skills shortage in the professional baking industry. This isn’t just a job; it’s a 12-month journey where you will be nurtured into an employable professional. You will learn the science and art of the baking process while being mentored by “best-in-class” experts to raise the standard of bakery products across South Africa.

Professional Baking Skills

  • The Baking Process: Master the end-to-end process of commercial and professional baking.
  • Product Excellence: Learn to create products that reflect the “Supreme” brand’s standards of excellence and consistency.
  • In-Store Standards: Understand how to manage and elevate the quality of bakery products in a retail or professional environment.

Workplace & Practical Experience

  • Mentorship: Receive dedicated coaching and mentorship from industry professionals throughout the year.
  • Practical Application: Complete the hands-on work modules required by both RCL FOODS and the SETA to earn your credits.
  • Industry Standards: Gain exposure to the health, safety, and quality standards required in a large-scale food manufacturing environment.

โœ… Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
  • Subject Requirements: Must have taken Hospitality Studies and Mathematics (or Maths Literacy).
  • Tech Skills: Basic computer literacy (MS Office) is considered an advantage.
  • Aptitude: * A genuine passion for baking and food preparation.
    • A strong drive to achieve performance targets.
    • A “willingness to learn” attitude.
