🌟 Role Purpose
The primary goal of this position is to maintain high standards of housekeeping across technical areas (engine rooms, battery rooms, switchgear rooms) and support the Process Controllers in the daily operational tasks of water treatment.
🔑 Primary Duties
Plant Housekeeping & Maintenance
- General Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in the engine rooms, control rooms, battery rooms, toilets, and switchgear room floors.
- Allocated Sections: Take full responsibility for the cleanliness of specific plant sections as assigned by the supervisor.
Operational Support
- Pump Operations: Assist the Process Controller in putting pumps on load or taking them off load.
- Valve Management: Manually operate suction, delivery, and pipeline isolating valves.
- Chemical Handling: Assist in the unloading of chlorine drums and ammonia.
- Water Sampling: Regularly take water samples as part of the quality monitoring process.
Safety & Reporting
- Hazard Identification: Actively report any unsafe acts, hazardous working conditions, or operational abnormalities to the shift supervisor.
✅ Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 or Equivalent (N3 Certificate).
- Communication & Numeracy: Basic proficiency in speaking/writing and working with numbers.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle manual labor (operating valves and unloading drums).
Highly Advantageous (Bonus)
- Blue Drop Requirements: A Water Treatment Learnership will serve as a strong advantage.
- Experience: 1 year of cleaning experience or related cleaning background.
- Knowledge: Prior exposure to Water Purification processes.
