Role Overview

Our client is seeking a dedicated and energetic Entry-Level Cargo Handler to join their logistics team in George. This role is essential for the smooth operation of inbound and outbound cargo movement. You will ensure that every shipment is handled, scanned, and processed in strict accordance with aviation and freight standard operating procedures.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a valid forklift license to enter the specialized world of air and freight logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Cargo Movement: Plan and manage the physical movement of inbound and outbound cargo.
• Scanning & Tracking: Accurately scan all cargo to maintain real-time tracking and inventory integrity.
• Safe Handling: Ensure all goods are handled securely to prevent damage or loss, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Equipment Maintenance: Regularly check light machinery and warehouse equipment (such as forklifts) for serviceability and safety.
• Customer Service: Act as a brand ambassador by providing professional service during cargo drop-offs and collections.
• Workspace Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and secure warehouse environment at all times.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric / NQF Level 4).
• Licensing: * Valid South African Driver’s License.
  • Valid Forklift License (Non-negotiable).
• Environment: Must be comfortable and capable of working in a busy warehouse environment.
• Availability: Willingness to work extended hours and shifts as required by the flight or transport schedules.
• Attributes: * Strong communication skills.
  • Deadline-driven with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Technical competency with light machinery.

Compensation & Benefits

• Basic Salary: R5,614 per month.
• Allowances: Monthly Travel Allowance and Shift Allowance.
